Antony Millen is the head of English and Literacy at Taumarunui High School. He has published three novels since 2013, all of which feature settings in the central North Island of New Zealand: Redeeming Brother Murrihy, Te Kauhanga and, just recently, The Chain. In 2014, he won the Heartland short story competition (with ‘Fishing the Pungapunga’) and was highly commended for his entry in the New Zealand Society of Authors Central Districts competition (‘The Boy at Ohinetonga’). In 2015, he improved his result in the same competition, winning third prize (‘Aukati’). His short story, ‘The Homeless Men of Mahuika’, was recently published in Issue #4 of Headland.
