Cherie Lacey is an academic and essay writer. With Ingrid Horrocks, she is currently editing a collection of personal essays on place, Extraordinary Anywhere: Essays from Aotearoa New Zealand (forthcoming VUP, 2016). She has lectured in film, media, and writing studies at the University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington, and has undergone training as a psychoanalyst in Melbourne. This year, Cherie will be based at the IIML where she will write a book of essays on questions of self-authorship — as well as drones, psychoanalysis, whistle blowing, and the deep web.
