Laughton Pattrick

Laughton Pattrick was formerly a primary and secondary school teacher, a music advisor and College of Education lecturer and a singing tutor at Toi Whakaari N.Z. Drama School. He has written and directed music for a number of professional plays at Downstage, Centrepoint, Circa and Auckland Theatre Company. Laughton has written the music for nine of Capital E, National Children’s Theatre’s shows for children. Four of these – Seasons, On Our Street and The Farm At The End Of The Road and Around the World and Buck Again – with his wife Jenny as lyricist. Together they have written many songs for children, which are performed regularly in schools throughout New Zealand and Australia. In 2010 he wrote the music for the children’s book and CD The Very Important Godwit.
